Gouache on watercolor paper
This is a custom piece. This one happens to be the Stewart of Appin Tartan. The close-up shows that the 'fabric' is 'woven' of the names of the septs in this particular clan.
Size is approx. 13" square. The poem around the outside edges reads:
Close your eyes and dream of Hebridean shore,
Let the wind take you home again to Hebridean shore.
Gloamin' in the glen, the smokey silent loch,
Heather in my hand, thistle in my heart.
Faces I have known never growing old,
Stories of my past from islands I call home.
Tend the fallen lamb, lead him to the fold,
Piper on the hill, Gaelic in my soul.
